Mark started his career in the City before spending 10 years in emerging markets; since 2007 he has been one of the three Investment Directors at the UK Innovation & Science Seed Fund, a $120m specialist early stage deeptech fund investing across most areas of deeptech from fusion to gene therapy. One of the Fund’s investors is the UK Atomic Energy Authority and, inter alia, Mark is responsible for the management of a dedicated $10m pre-seed & seed fund supporting fusion start-ups including spin outs from UKAEA’s Culham site. He was the founding investor in Tokamak Energy in 2010 and still (!) sits as an observer on their board.
